Interstices : discover the world of Information Science and Technology
The world of Information Science and Technology is being made available to a large public of French readers as a web site, built by scientists.
Interstices (http://interstices.info) was created by the research institute Inria and developed in partnership with CNRS, French Universities and the ASTI association. Its goal is to give everybody the chance to discover the diversity of research in this enthralling domain and to promote understanding of scientific work and results. The editorial board is made up of both scientists and multimedia creators.

Do you want to know more about Information Science and Technology, about what lies behind the technology we use everyday without even thinking about how it works or how it was invented ? On Interstices, there are articles, informative illustrations, multimedia documents, and interactive animations about on-going research, basic knowledge, how researchers approach their work, scientific life, recent scientific history in the field, and many related subjects.

If you are a researcher in computer or cognitive science and you want to let people know about your work and your research, show a recent result to a large public, explain how you work and why ; if you want to express your point of view on the social impact of information science and technology, start a debate, or write about the history of your domain, we welcome your contribution. This web site is a privileged forum for non-specialist scientific dissemination. The site is in French but contributions in English are welcome : we will translate your contribution into French.
